Welcome to our School Council!
Our Council is composed of representatives from Primary 1, Primary 2, Secondary 3, and Secondary 4. Each September, students vote to select their class representative for the year. We provide ballot papers, and students choose someone who:
- Is a good listener
- Communicates effectively, whether through signing, talking, or using their communication device or book
- Has creative and helpful ideas
- Is friendly and supportive
The student with the most votes becomes the official representative for a year. Their name is displayed on a special board, and they receive a badge during assembly—students can choose their preferred badge color.
Our School Council supports school activities such as Red Nose Day, helping with tasks like collecting donations, selling red noses, or serving cakes at coffee mornings. They also play a role in decision-making, for example, judging competitions. The school council assists in making collective decsions about the school i.e. what they would like to see in and around the school. Additionally, they assist in decisions related to our assemblies.
We also have a ‘Suggestions Box’ where students and staff can share ideas, concerns, or suggestions for the Council to discuss and consider.
