Point 5
Point 5 is a network of schools who support pupils with the most complex needs. The core mission is to provide continuing professional development for teachers to enhance the learning experiences for this unique group of students. A large number of schools across London participate. The network is divided into 2 groups:
The leadership group where leaders meet termly to review the impact the network has and plan strategicallly for the following academic year.
The practitioner group which is further refined in to lead practitioners and teacher participants. The lead practitioners are chosen by the 'lead school' and showcase their outstanding practice to the teacher participants. The teacher participants are often new to working with this particular cohort of children and would benefit from professional development and mentorship in this area.
The participants visit the schools they are teamed up with and present the impact of the programme at the end of the academic year.
