Welcome from Chair of Governors

A very warm welcome on behalf of Waverley’s Governors to our school website.  I am delighted to introduce myself as the chair of Governors.
This is my first role as chair of governors, a role I took on in last year having worked with Gail and the governing body  since 2016

I am incredibly proud to be associated with Waverley school  and impressed how all  the  the staff and children have adapted to the changes in the last few years.

The website provides in-depth information about Waverley including information on policies, all the departments -Primary 1, Primary 2, Secondary 3, and Secondary 4 as well as up-to-date information about school activities, events, and other initiatives and activities taking place in Enfield and beyond.

Our pupils are our priority and we want to ensure that we continue to provide the best possible education and opportunities for them to ensure they thrive as valued members of our community.

The school Governors completed the skills matrix and it was identified areas for development and areas of expertise.

If you are interested in joining our governing board please contact the school office. admin@waverley-school.uk

Annual Statement 2022-23

The Governing Body have scrutinised several key areas in the past year.  This scrutiny requires establishing a committee structure and appointing a Chair for each committee.  Additionally, we must ensure we are representative i.e., quorate always to ensure compliance.

The Curriculum meeting focussed on remote learning, catch up and the quality and consistency of teaching and learning.

The Finance Committee focused on the budget along with the cost-of-living crisis, keeping a close eye on inflation which has impacted on all organisations, including our own school’

The Premises and staffing Committee focussed on staffing and the premises work that needed to be undertaken, particularly looking at several audits of various parts of the school such as the pool that were undertaken by specialists.
