WASP
WASP (Waverley Association For Special People)
The charity is currently managed by its three trustees (who meet bi annually) and Waverley’s business manager.
Previously, WASP was led by a committee of parents, staff and friends of Waverley, who organised and held many fundraising events. We hope to return to this format at some point in the future.
WASP has been, and continues to be, supported by local businesses, schools, rotary clubs, individuals, religious establishments and many other organisations.
Donations and funds raised, go towards additional and much needed items for the school that government funding cannot cover. WASP’s fundraising has led to the purchase of adapted bicycles, sensory room equipment, trampolines, the school minibuses and their maintenance, soft furnishings as well as pupils’ Christmas presents, school leavers’ parties and outings.
Fundraising for WASP can be done by any individual or group in a number of ways. This could be as part of an organised event, through a work place, as a personal challenge such as a sponsored bicycle ride or to mark a special occasion.
We welcome all fundraising on behalf of WASP and the pupils at Waverley School. All money donated supports the learning and wellbeing of the pupils.
